Stand for Freedom
Penn State sophomore Kevin Dastalfo, left, and junior Josh Lashbrook kicked off the Stand for Freedom on Jan. 31 at the Allen Street Gate at University Park to call attention to the 27 million men, women and children living in slavery throughout the world. The event, which will last for 27 hours, is organized by the campus' chapter of the International Justice Mission, a human rights organization that aids victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. Students were planning to stand at the intersection of College Avenue and Shortlidge Road on Feb. 1. To see a full-size version of the photo, click on the image.
