Famous PS Alumni 003

Fred Waring, Class of '22, is Penn State's first of just two alumni to make it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and one of a few select stars to have not one but three stars on the walk, in radio, television and audio recording. A nationally known director and founder of The Pennsylvanians orchestra and chorus, in his heyday he was a pioneer in radio, stage shows, television and recording. He fostered choral singing in America by organizing the Fred Waring Music Workshop and was co-inventor of the Waring Blender.
