Matthew Restall and daughter Sophie, now cancer-free after becoming a Four Diamonds child in 2000, addressed the crowd of more than 350. Matthew was a new faculty member in the history department and unfamiliar with THON when Sophie received her diagnosis. He praised the first-rate care Sophie received at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He also encouraged all faculty to learn about THON and attend the event Feb. 20-22 at the Bryce Jordan Center to see what great service and selfless efforts their students are performing in their free time to help fight pediatric cancer.
