SEC 1 Hotham Valley Railway, Pinjarra 23/10/2015

Ex SECWA loco SEC 1 "South Fremantle" never worked on the mainline.

This is a 1950 built Drewry Car Co loco (Works No. 2350), similar to the Tasmanian V Class and UK 04 Class.

NB: the spelling is Drewry and not Drewery as showing on the HVR website.

Retired by the State Electricty Commission from its work at the coal fired power station in 1985, they donated it to the HVTR.

Limited to shunting at Pinjarra due to thin wheels, it was for years based at Dwellingup on the forest trains.

Thanks to Graham for the build works number 😊.

NB: HVTR have 2 of the Tasmanian V Class (both are active): V 4 and V 5). They are usually based at the Dwellingup location at the other end of the preserved line.
