Elephant by Quentin Trollip

Folded by Gaurav Shemar

My first model from Quentin's wonderful book, Origami Sequence! This is the 4th and final elephant for my discworld project, Tissue foil really helps with this model as I found my previous attempt with tant to be too thick to model the trunk properly. Also the tant version was too front-heavy to stand on its legs but this version from tissue foil solves both those issues. I really like the shape, size and mobility of the ears and the proportions of the legs and body are very elephant-like to my eye. I especially love the posture with the trunk curled up and like the way the tusks emerge. The colour change on the tusks isn't as obvious as I had hoped in this light but looks more of a contrast in real life. Now to make an origami disc...
