Today I'm participating for the first time with some Flickr friends in the FOTF group. This month's theme is "Music From 1969" and I have chosen "Hair".
Hair "reflects the creators' observations of the hippie counterculture and sexual revolution of the late 1960s, and several of its songs became anthems of the anti-Vietnam War peace movement. The musical's profanity, its depiction of the use of illegal drugs, its treatment of sexuality, its irreverence for the American flag, and its nude scene caused much comment and controversy. The musical broke new ground in musical theatre by defining the genre of "rock musical", using a racially integrated cast, and inviting the audience onstage for a Be-In finale." [Wiki]
It was first performed in 1967 and productions ran for several years. In 1969 the album from the musical topped the Australian charts staying in the No. 1 position for 28 weeks. Many singles from the album also featured in the charts here and around the world.
Many thanks to my wonderful friend for modelling for this photoshoot. She has absolutely amazing hair :-)
