NIcholas was the son of Sir Nicholas Bacon Lord Keeper of the Great Seal www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/836X49 who bought Redgrave Manor from the Crown in 1542 and rebuilt the Hall , by 1st wife Jane Fernley.. He was also reported to have died on 22 November 1624 at Culford, Suffolk, England.1 He was buried at Redgrave, Suffolk, England.1

Nicholas matriculated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University in 1554.He was MP for Beverley 1563-1567. He was MP for Suffolk 1572-1583. He was Sheriff of Suffolk 1581-82 and Sheriff of Norfolk 1597 -1598. He was created Baronet Bacon,of Redgrave on 22 May 1611,and also knighted at Norwich by Queen Elizabeth
