Chancellor Gary May visits Professor Ricardo Castro’s “Science of Superheroes” class
UC Davis Chancellor Gary May visits Professor Ricardo Castro’s “Science of Superheroes” class to chat with students about his favorite superheroes, the latest comic book movies and his favorite comic book shops in the Sacramento region.
May grew up reading comics. When he was in school, his father would give him $1 for every A he earned and he spent nearly all that money on comic books. Over the years, he has accumulated a large collection and continues reading the latest issues in his spare time.
Professor Castro’s “Science of Superheroes” course (EMS 2) explores the science that’s needed to make comic book powers a reality. This is the second year in a row Chancellor May has been invited as a guest speaker to share his love of comics and engage with students.
