A move to an 1880s row home in a hilly patch of South Baltimore offered enviable proximity to the Patapsco River and a scenic waterfront park, but it nearly broke this gardener's heart (and an old dog's back). This series recounts a nearly four-year effort to improve the micro-views, dampen noise and cool a concrete valley. The process led to creating a new townhouse appurtenance, the Curb Cabinet, with Baltimore artist Tim Scofield and the creation of a loose umbrella project for the sharing of it, Garden Arts Baltimore.
