The heart of the USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies – which unifies and advances environmental education and research at the university – is the Philip K. Wrigley Marine Science Center. Located on a small cove at the “quiet” end of Catalina Island, just 20 miles offshore from Los Angeles, the center is available for use by USC faculty and students, researchers from other universities, conference organizers and other educational groups. Generous gifts from the Wrigley family and other university friends have transformed the center into a state-of-the-art laboratory and teaching facility for marine research.
