William and Holly in Westlake
Robert Scoble, Jan Kabili (photoshop whiz) and I processed this image for a special edition of Photowalking with Thomas Hawk on ScobleShow. The shot is of my son William and my daughter Holly. I took it when I was shooting last weekend in the Westlake District for an upcoming issue of SF Magazine.
We filmed the show down in Half Moon Bay at Robert's house on Saturday and Jan (who's written several Photoshop books) walked me through my basic regular work flow in Photoshop and gave me tons of tips along the way.
Probably most valuable was that she introduced me to Adobe's Bridge software (yes I know, what rock have I been hiding under). It's weird, even though I knew about Bridge I just never used it and insead have been struggling through Windows Explorer (yes, yes, I also know, I need to get a Mac) in terms of viewing and processing my photos. It's like I had terrible vision and someone just put a pair of glasses on me. Bridge rocks.
Jan gave me lots of other tips along the way as well and I learned so much.
Thanks to Robert and Jan and look for the show in a few weeks when Robert has it up at the ScobleShow site.
After we processed photos for the show we went down to the Ritz Carlton at Half Moon Bay (you can walk there from Robert's House) and sat on the patio of what is one of the all time great spots to view the Pacific. I took some more photos there. If you want to see the shots from our day on Saturday you can click through for a SmartSet here.
