Vastness

There are some moments where i am browsing trough my archive, then all of a sudden finding a picture which is still on the shelf for processing but forgotten. This is one of those shots. In fact, is was only the lines in this landscape that was of most interest to me. When driving to the WaddenSea for a walk with my close friend JannemanD90. and both our families, we drove passed this field and we both knew we just had to shoot some photo's there.

Originally i posted a photo of this landscape showing nothing but a few bushes and trees on the horizon.

I had an idea: why not create an alternate reality. I could see the picture before my eyes: a landscape with leading lines and a converging moving sky, both leading to a lonely subject on the horizon.

I composed this image from three shots taken at (top to bottom) Radio Kootwijk, Deest and Hippolythushoef. The little building is the so-called Dijk warehouse in Deest, as can be seen in here and here

I was amazed that a simple processing could deliver such an image.

I like taking photography a step further and create surreal landscapes or strange abstracts, just as long as i am the maker of the original footage.

This may not be everyones taste but for whom it is, enjoy.
