Hope Eternal .

Neist point lighthouse isle of Skye .

A long winding bumpy road brings me to the North west side of the island , on the drive here i did,n,t see a sole or pass by another car it looks absolutely desolate here in the middle of winter .

I have been anticipating what i might find on my arrival , would it fill my expectations or would it be a huge disappointment failing to live up the image i had in my mind . Walking to the cliff top and gazing out at the massive chunk of rock snaking out to sea like a demented serpent rearing out of the sea for a moment took my breath away . Stunning in it,s wildness and isolation a fascinating sight as i have ever seen .

I took the long walk down the cliff face to the far side of the lighthouse thankful it has a foot path , after slipping and sliding over a the remaining rocks i at last came face to face with the image i had firmly printed in my imagination i was not the slightest bit disappointed , a shot i had long dreamed of capturing was now in my sights , i went for a long exposure wanting to capture the soft early evening light with a soft smooth sea , i was feeling a bit anxious not wanting to mess it up after coming all this way . When i was happy with the exposure i had , i sat there in the quite for another 30 minuets soaking up the atmosphere before taking the long walk back to the top satisfied with how it all went .
