Take 4 canvases (2 of each size), paint them a solid base color (I happened to make my own color by combining a few different wall paint samples), cut your designs out on vinyl with the Silhouette (I used a few different designs for this, and laid them out on the canvases before removing the backing) and Voila! The best part is, if you get tired of the design, peel it off and replace it with something else!

I buy the stock vinyl rolls from a supplier online, for this I used a machine called the Silhouette- it's a die cutting machine that takes a design and cuts it from whatever material you load into the machine. This design is copyright to the company that sells the Silhouette.

hi! I only have one question, what size canvases did you use? thank you very much beforehand and I love that idea.

I used 12x16 and 8x24 sizes. I left an inch between each canvas so total artwork size is 43w26.5 tall. Hope that helps!

I Megan, I love this idea! I have a friend who has offered to cut this for me on her silhouette machine. Would you be willing to share which designs you used to make this. There are many branches and birds to choose from!

Hi Megan! I love this idea too and a friend and I started it. We found the designs you used and, wow, I didn't realize you actually had to construct the branches, flowers, and leaves. We are not pros with the Silhouette machine and can't figure out how you made the branches longer without making them thinner. Are you able to send the design you created? I'd be willing to purchase it from you.

For those of use without a silhouette machine couldn't we use the peel and stick graphics sold on line that people put on their walls. I have one of birds and a branch on my bathroom wall as a matter of fact.

This is a great idea, thanks for sharing.

Hi meganelizabeth22! I have a Silhouette and am trying to make this (because it is amazing!) but I can't find the branch design you used in the Silhouette store....I found the bird on the branch, but do you remember the name of the big, main branch you used? I would for sure appreciate it if you could let me know :) Thanks!

      Hi Megan-
Would you be willing to create one of these and sell it? Let me know! I love it but am not very good at this stuff :)

Google Vinyl Wall Decal. I love this canvas idea. I have a huge family photo tree on my wall (which is painted, textured - purchased on Ebay). It works wonderfully and hasn't peeled or come loose. It's gorgeous.

Hello there! Thanks for the inspiration, I pinned this to Pinterest last year, I wanted to tell you I got inspired by this and painted my own last year, I've been meaning to blog it or comment it on your blog but it seems you are no longer active. Anyways, today I posted it on DeviantArt, here is the link in case you want to check it out: fav.me/d6prmu8

seems everyone can find the bird on a branch, but can't get a solid answer about the branch. From what I can tell she picked out a few branches and pieced them together. It really doesn't matter what branches you use as long as you like the pattern and buy the canvas accordingly so it will fit. Other wise if it was just a couple of branches she would tell us the number of the pattern. You can only get it if you own the machine anyway.

If this seems too labor intensive, find a fabric design you love, cut into sections, staple each to backside of canvas, hang accordingly.

Hello what color paint did you use on background? Also I am interested in the paint on your walls. I have been wanting to paint mine a grey"ish" and I color that contrast of the grey to the painting. Please share. Thanks!

Wall paint is actually green, not grey. It's Sherwin Williams Clary Sage.

The paint on the canvases was a random mix of paints- sorry can't be more specific.
