Leek St Edward N-Aisle Rose Window Morris & Co IMG_2809 adj

One of two rose or wheel-windows which sit opposite each other at the top of the S & N side-walls of the church. The tracery of the N-wall rose dates from 1450-1550 and divides the circle into six segments.

The inner ring contains symbols of the four evangelists and 'ihc' symbols; which are surrounded by a ring of 12 scroll-carrying angels was designed by GF Bodley and made in 1903 by Morris & Co. Sewter does not say that it was also given by Thomas Wardle but this seems likely.
