Chamisa shrub, Steelhead Falls

Chamisa (Ericameria nauseosa, formerly Chrysothamnus nauseosus) blooms along the Deschutes River at Steelhead Falls, outside of Medford, Oregon, Sept. 17, 2014. Chamisa, or rubber rabbitbrush, is a shrub of the genus Ericameria that grows in the arid regions of western North America.
