Loe Bar Panorama. Nikon D3100.

Loe Bar is near to Porthleven in Cornwall and is a sandbank that was created by storms which cut off the Cober Valley from the sea. The bar was formed in the 12th century and before then merchant ships were able to sail up the estuary as far as Helston. Behind the Bar is Loe Pool, which is reputed to be the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall. The distance between Loe Pool and the sea is around 200 metres.
