WEMBURY is a village, in Plympton-St, Mary district, Devon; on the coast, at the mouth of the river Yealm
In the distance on the left is The Great Mewstone Rock.The Great Mewstone gets its name from the old English name for the Herring gull and these, along with many other birds, are the only inhabitants on the island these days. It is owned by the National Trust and as there is no public access, it is rich in wildlife and an important conservation area.
