Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, Lee Lawrie, Hildreth Meiere & Albert Herter

The Great Hall of the National Academy of Sciences was designed by architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, working closely with sculptor Lee Lawrie, and artists Hildreth Meiere and Albert Herter. As throughout the entire National Academy of Sciences building, decoration celebrates the history and of science, as it was known in 1924.

The National Academy of Sciences building is undergoing a major two year restoration project and will reopen in April 2012.
