A swimming pool at Keeler, California is slowly reclaimed by the desert on the edge of Owens Lake. Mount Whitney is in the background. After the Owens River was diverted to supply Los Angeles with drinking water, the Owens Lake dried up causing alkali dust storms to blow through Keeler. Today, Keeler is mostly a ghost town with fewer than 100 residents.
