Hi I am feeling proud here as I designed this sign a few years for the TIC (I work for Norwich City Council). I am a designer and my last college project was a neon and etched steel piece which sadly someone stole ( I hope they are very happy). I keep promising myself that I will soon do another neon project. This one was a real opportunity and on the first day the Forum opened I was very proud to see that it really depended on that sign. Hope they keep it in the refurb.

By the way, the photo was taken on my birthday!

Amazing coincidence that I photographed it on your birthday. I hope it's part of the new refurb too. According to flickr it's the 13th most interteresting photo in my photostream and has featured in Explore.

Good to see this has "pride of place" in the newly refurbished Tourist Information Office.

Leo, would you mind if I kept a copy of this photo? I have never had a photo of this sign for my portfolio, and to be honest, I don't think it was ever really appreciated at the TIC - just a sign to them but I put a lot of thought into the materials, the proportions and the shape of the i. However I have never recorded it for myself. I suppose I could go a photograph it but it seems a shame when you have such a good one. And I am thrilled by the attention it gets here.

For the person above who wanted to know where it came from - cfreeman - I designed the construction of the sign and it was fabricated by Fitt Signs Norwich if that is any help at all. It wasn't that expensive but is not available off the shelf. It has a steel background and an etched glass layer with neon on top

Hi. Would really like to include this photo in a Neon Sign pool, and as part of a project to edit together a giant patchwork of neon signs we will project onto the surface of a 4 metre high, round inflatable at Illuminating York festival later this month. Would you be up for that? The group pool is here: www.flickr.com/groups/1571029@N22/
