Ouranoupoli's castle ... 3XP HDR

It is located at the Southeastern part of Chalkidiki's maritime village ... Nobody knows exactly when it was built, but it is certain that it existed at least since 1344 ... This is the place that provided hospitality to Thessaloniki's Despot Ioannis Palaeologos who in order to accolate the owners acquited them of all taxes ...

 

In August 1585 the structure had been seriously damaged by an earthquake and it underwent serious reparations ... It finally took the shape that we all may see above after August 1858 ....

 

I find the place extremely imposing and I wanted to photograph it this way ... I believe I pretty much did it ...
