Mulga Snake

    Newer Older

This magnificent Mulga Snake (also known as King Brown Snake) was over 2m in length and seemed quite unconcerned by my presence as it hunted near the sheep yards at Bowra Station near Cunnamulla, Qld.
I managed to get a couple of clear shots as moved among the tussocks and rocks.

A beautiful looking snake Leo, but not one that I would hang around to take photographs of even with a 700mm lens.

They are indeed a most majestic creature, the golden brown when it has shed skin is such a remarkable light reflecting colour. However. I'd do it all at a distance. Your low pov has really isolated it for us.

That's a wonderful shot Leo. I guess you can read their body language and it's not breeding season but I'd still be nervous!
