Randy got the idea for this dagger after watching a special on the History Channel. Apparently, Wild Bill Hickok was shot in the back of the head while playing poker in a saloon in Deadwood, North Dakota Territory. The cards he was holding were the Ace of Spades, Ace of Clubs, the 8 of Spades and the 8 of Clubs. The fifth card has never been confirmed, but a Joker and a Queen of Hearts has been alluded to. The hand became known as the "Dead man's hand". Randy thought it would make a great theme for Linda Karst Stone to put on a handle and we think she did a fabulous job of bringing the idea to life on this beautiful dagger!! The handle is made of alternate ivory with layers of black fiber and nickel silver on each end for added beauty and stability. The CPM 154 blade is mirror polished, as are the nickel silver bolsters. A hand-tooled cowhide sheath and zippered case are included.
