Inquisitor Scale Space Marine

    Newer Older

This is an Inquisitor scale Space Marine I painted a few years ago because it was cool and there was some sort of GW store contest. I didn't win but some including the manager seemed to think I should have. ;-)

Ultramarines, huskyoc, and 7 other people added this photo to their favorites.

That is really well done. I love the flames on the back pack exhausts. I am currently, slowly converting one of these models into a grey knight! Its taking ages as I only work on it every now and then

Thanks for the kind words but as mentioned it didn't win. People seem to like it though some got mad because I painted it as some sort of super Salamander rather than a Deathwatch Space Marine. I play Chaos what can I say.

I'll try to post more miniatures to the group. Here are two galleries of miniatures on my own website:

This is the most popular picture I've uploaded to Flickr. I painted this model many years ago and I was in a hurry due to some contest I didn't even win. I don't even have this model with me in Vancouver, it is on a shelf at my mom's house...

Thanks, I painted it years ago, people seem to like it. I was a bit rushed and didn't even win the contest, but apparently I was robbed by favoritism and crony-ism or something... ;-)

Everyone likes this model. Marines are so popular, I painted this a long time ago in a bit of a hurry too, oh well thanks for stopping by.

I think its a realy shame that GW has got this sort of fanatical sense of things HAVING to keep to the 'fluff'. You can't go paint a model in a cool way for a competition if it diverges from the back ground. My misses did one of those demons of sleenesh with four legs, made this awesome fantasy land base, really psychedelic, despite the awesome paint work, they effectively marked it down because of the basing not being what it 'should' be.

Not every GW staffer is like that, nor every painting judge. However if you really want to win a Golden Daemon, let alone the Slayer Sword, you have to paint the way they want you to, or paint something so amazing there would be a riot if it didn't win or place.

I don't get how this is such a popular photo and paint job of mine. It is about 7 or 8 years old, I was rushed, I know I can do better... I think it is the face and the fact it is a loyalist space marine, that is the most popular miniatures that GW has, perhaps I should do up a 40K scale loyalist just for fun and Flickr
