front & center

i couldn't take my eyes off of this couple and they couldn't take their eyes off of mona :) they looked pretty sweet standing there, arm in arm, apparently in awe of the masterpiece in front of them.

This is funny. when i visited, there were about 100 tourists from Japan, all had cameras, and all were trying to take a picture of the Mona Lisa. The two overwhelmed security guards were in a frenzy, trying to tell them no pictures are allowed. So, i walked around them and got my pic's.
I have to say, i was a little surprised at the size if it. I suppose all the years of hearing about the Mona Lisa made it much bigger in my mind. I was expecting something 4' x 4'

I like the bokeh effect with the Mona Lisa in the background.

Tom Floyd :) i think they might have been listening to the audio tour :) i agree with you...i expected it to be much much bigger. it was cool to see it, but watching the crowd was a little more fun :)

I love this! Your take on ML is superb!

Karen Portin thanks. it was cool to see it, but the people added so much more to being there :)

It was fascinating to see the people more interested in taking a picture of the Mona Lisa than actually viewing the Mona Lisa. People would press to the front of the line, snap a quick picture, chimp the shot, snap again and then scurry on their way. They didn't actually bother to look at the painting(s).

Sheesh, if that's all you care about people, buy a postcard!

This one, on the other hand, is a great crowd reaction shot. I love the context of the couple watching the painting. Well done!
