This morning i set up my camera up in a familiar location free from light pollution. I intended to gaze the night sky while capturing some ancient light of the cosmic center of the milky way. I was not prepared to see so many stray meteors! Last weekend the Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaked bringing hunks of dust and ice from Haileys comet our way, and i assumed after almost a week later the light show from the meteor shower was over. Boy was i wrong! As you can see in this image, A bright meteor streaks across the sky through the milky way between Scutum and the Aquila region. Im not certain but im pretty sure this is a stray Eta Aquarid. nonetheless, i was quite pleased to see this image on the back of my camera post exposure. Enjoy!
