Dark Takes Light

On this eventful evening out on the Sonoma County coast, I arrived with enough time to decide what to do and where to be. But, the seemingly-insignificant dark clouds on the northern horizon quickly moved in droping showers on the sea and claiming half of the sky like a guy with a really big head sitting in-front of you at a movie. They moved in from the northwest (right side of frame) and changed the whole scene.
Still, there is something interesting about rapidly-changing conditions. There was one uninspiring flash of lightning a little earlier, embedded in the clouds, but nothing else.
Minutes after the sunset color was gone and as I meandered back down the PCH, the rain caught me making for a tricky drive home. This was a good example of how this sort of photography is a "game of inches," or should I say minutes.
