My first home-2823 Gainesville Street, SE, Washington, DC-what an embarassment!

It's sad to see what was a perfectly nice apartment building in this condition. I lived here from birth to 1960. It's been in this state of decay for years now. I hadn't driven by it in a long long time, and decided to check it out today, and nothing's changed. I even found a used condom on the street next to where I parked. Disgusting!

And they say you can't go home again! You can, but don't expect it to have remained the same!

I lived on St Claire Drive in Marlow Heights until 1967, right across the street from the movie theater. Those townhouses are still there, but have all become commercial properties. When we moved, my parents sold to an insurance agency.

Maryland Route 5 I've lived in Perry County PA in Ickisburg on a small lot, the house was nice and there was a big red steel barn for storage after we sold it to the bank when we moved it became abandoned and the grass over 6 feet tall it was like a field and the windows were broken out and they let people dump old cars on the big yard of grass it was a shame now today the whole town is practically a ghost town

Isn't it sad when you remember your old home with fond memories and see it in real time and it's not the same any longer? This neighborhood in Washington used to be very very nice, but slowly, very slowly, it's improving.
