H Alpha + RGB image of NGC 6888 - the Crescent Nebula

Taken on May 29 2012 as one of a pair of images to improve on my 27 May Crescent effort. I wasn't totally happy wth my previous colour image. I'd had to crop it more than I'd liked to remove some distortions and also I hadn't captured enough colour data.

This image set has been only slightly cropped to remove some data at the top that was affected by the off axis guider's shadow. It is 15x5mins of H Alpha data plus 7x1 minute each of Red, Green and Blue taken with an Atik 383L mono CCD through my (now pier-mounted on an EQ6) carbon fibre f5 8" Newtonian. Autoguided by a Starlight Express Lodestar CCD and PhD software. Images combined in Maxim and post processed in Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.
