Nothing is Ever Lost

This is a poem by Alice Walker from the collection entitled Absolute Trust in the Goodness of the Earth. The poem itself is entitled "Where is my nail file? Where is my glasses? Have you seen my car keys?"

Alice Walker is a brilliant essayist, poet, and novelist with such insight and humanity in every word. Most touching to me is her work in Africa to prevent more female genital mutilations but she has also done work supporting Cubans and Palestinians and showing love for her African American sisters and brothers here. It was such an honor to see her speak as part of the Chicago Humanities Festival at the end of October this year.

This photo is from Ghent, Belgium.
