~ Happy Thanksgiving ~
For the group "Me Again Monday" with the theme red.
I took this image the other morning, we had had a heavy frost and it was cold out about 1 degree but beautiful with all that sparkling frost in the sunshine. Fall is here and the leaves are all changing colour giving us a beautiful show before they drop to the ground. This is my favourite time of the year…the colours, the crisp mornings and the warmth of the sun on my face. Our daughter is in Bend Oregon right now and has been there since April. I was talking with her the other day and she asked if the leaves were changing colour…she misses that. So this is for you Charissa…a beautiful red leaf…by the time you come back in November the trees will all be bare and the ground may be blanketed in snow.
Today is also Thanksgiving Day here in Canada and there are so many things I am thankful for…
The life that I have been given
My wonderful husband and kids
Having been able to be a stay at home mom
The country that I live in and the freedoms that I have
Friends and extended family
My Church community
Health and strength
My home and all that comes with that
A God who loved me so much that He gave His only Son for me
In this life there can be so many good things but there are also things that aren't so good, bad things happen, we experience pain and sorrow. And yet I am learning even to be thankful in those circumstances, often it is in our low times that we gain a new perspective on the preciousness of life and the blessings that we have been given.
