Jjajangmyun

I had wanted to try this recipe for so long! Ever since I saw that picture on Maangchi's website of the little kid with this sauce all over their face, haha. It seemed like such great, simple, filling dish.

 

It took me a very long time to find the black bean paste. When I was in DC over the summer, I finally found it! I made a vegetarian version when in DC, because my sister (who I was living with) doesn't eat meat. I wanted to wait until I made it correctly, though, before I posted it.

 

And it was delicious! Definitely messy, but messy food is fun sometimes! An extremely satisfying dish!
