I made this cake for my daughter Lauren's 9th birthday party (Nov.6,2010)
the bottom represents "the bride".. the scene in which Beatrice is gunned down in the opening scene.. there is white bridal lace with blood and realistic chocolate bullets...the next teir is a Japanese pagoda.. this represents the scene toward the end in which Beatrice fights the "crazy 88's" and O-Ren has the traditional rooftiles and curves and bamboo of a pagoda.. all edible .... the top is yellow with a black stripe to represent the suit Beatrice wears when she is fighting O-Ren Ishii contains an edible peice of notebook paper made of fondant with Beatirice's "death List five" , and katana..
( which was not edible.. i thought it would make a nice keepsake) and a mask that represents the "crazy 88 ".. with a whole lotta royal icing blood splatter = )

Holy cow! I think I'm in love. If I ever get married, I'd hire you as my cake decorator.

Thank you kindly for liking my "not-so-typical" cake for my wonderful and "not-so-typical" daughter...
We are a familty who can appreciate all things geeky, gorey, and far from ordinary = )

      Oh man, oh maaaaaan.
This is so amazing. I can't help but notice all the blood but no names crossed off yet.. ;)
I guess it's from when she gets gunned down, right? Haha
Seriously. This is the best cake, ever.

i find the cake awesome! But I'm horrified by the idea that your daughter is only 9 years old :-(

Wow! I wish I'd had a cake like this when i turned nine! My mom thought I should make do with a Barbie in a dress, sigh ... even though I was way more into westerns. I'd have loved a stagecoach instead. Anyway - fab work on the cake, like the way you made the different tiers represent different facets of the storyline! Your daughter sure is lucky.
