Brimstone Butterfly

    Newer Older

This was taken this afternoon in the garden. Butterflies and bees are just drawn to this ice plant, and this year, seem to be more than ever.

Nice shot Tracy, it's a Brimstone butterfly rather than a cabbage white.

Good find and good shot. Agree with Alan about the ID and this is one I've never been able to pin down myself because they've never settled long enough.

Wonderful image but this is a Brimstone Butterfly and one I have been trying to catch for years and I am very jealous :-)

Oh wow thanks I didn't realise that it was a Brimstone Butterfly, thanks very much for the ID. I've had a few in the garden over the last few days, really unusual looking but they absolutely love my Ice Plant.

Beautiful capture, so jealous as I'm yet to find a Brimstone, don't seem to have them near me, so it's been on my list all year, lucky you, don't see many around.

I used to have a lot of this plant in my garden, then we had Lotty !!! she has just about destroyed it all......this is a fabulous photo and what a great looking butterfly.
