PATHWAYS Negotiation Education Summer2018
Negotiation Education: Thirty Jewish and Arab English language educators from diverse communities came together at the Hermon Field School to participate in a Negotiation Education workshop for four intensive days facilitated by PATHWAYS Institute for Negotiation Education funded by the US Embassy Public Affairs Section and the Regional English Language Office. Assistant Clinical Professor at Harvard Law School Rachel Viscomi brought her expertise on how to delve into problem-solving and manage difficult conversations. The schedule also included master classes, with role plays facilitated by Alumni of the Pathways program, and the RELO introduced Embassy opportunities and resources for English Language enhancement. Early morning yoga, a nature hike and evenings packed with a poetry slam and a web chat with Erin Gruwell from the Freedom Writers Foundation allowed the teachers to experience unique creative English techniques and training to take back into their classrooms. The MoE's partnership with the program allowed them to award professional development credits to the teachers for participation.
