Knobbly crab spider. (Thomisids) Stephanopis altifrons sp. (Thank you Robert Whyte for help with id)
I found this spider by pure chance. I was chasing after another Jumping Spider at the bottom of a River Red Gum Tree and found this spider on a fallen piece of bark, it was only because it moved a leg that I noticed it, its camouflage is amazing!
I would love to get an id for this beautiful (yes I find it beautiful!) spider, I have seen another one on my previous macro excursions. They are very shy spiders and this one was very wary of me, so after a few shots I left it alone to get back to it's day. ;-))
Found in Australia, North-East Victoria. It was around 8mm in size but the last one I found was around 15mm)
