Not surprisingly Gilles was my favorite driver of all time. I started taking Formula Atlantic pics in '75, three races. That's when I saw Gilles for the first time.

He was magic in a race car, had a great sense humor and I will always cherish the time I got to spend with him at the track.

That's why I devoted a set to him, one that will eventually contain a lot more images than are there now........

Marc, I spent a great time diving in your Gilles set. I discovered a lot of pictures that I never seen before (I used to see mainly F1 pictures. Atlantic series were only datas for me til now)
He was my favourite driver too, when I had favourite driver. Now I only beg for an open possibilities F1 championship and races for well-tuned hands drivers as seen on Valencia 2012 F1 GP among others last season. New F1 rules seem to work! :-D

Maybe I'm gettin' old, but I feel some heartwarmed remembering "our heros", mainly with a good collection of new pictures (for me).

      Thanks for sharing!!

As soon as real life stops getting in the way I'll add more from my archives.

I still have roughly 70K images that haven't seen the light of flickr and a fair number of them will be of Gilles.

Nice shot - I never knew that Ferrari tried the Long Beach/Monaco rear wing in practice for this event!
