A Memorial Day tribute to the servicemen and women of the Armed Forces. This is a U.S. Navy
Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon, with nose art designated as "Rose's Raiders". Commissioned by the U.S. Navy and British Commonwealth, as a bomber and patrol aircraft in 1942. The Harpoon carried a crew of five, and one of its primary duties with the U.S. Navy was to patrol the sea for enemy submarines in the Pacific Theater during WWII. This radar equipped aircraft, filled the need for a navel land based, long range patrol bomber, which was a roll previously filled by the U.S. Army Air Force.
Rose's Raiders is now on display at the Tillamook Air Museum in Tillamook, Oregon.
