"I have always looked upon decay as being just as wonderful and rich an expression of life as growth." ~Henry Miller

Week #15

Theme: Old/ Abandoned/ Decaying

This morning I headed out in my jeep with a subject already in old, abandoned service station in a little town called Lavoy. My husband and I had seen the Dorentral Garage last summer on a bike trip. At the time, I grabbed a few quick shots of it and knew that I would return again to see it another day. So with that in mind, I drove about 100 km east of Edmonton with my iPod blaring and a latte in hand. Unfortunately, when i arrived in Lavoy, I was saddened to see an empty lot where the service station once stood. Progress, I guess.

On my drive back towards Edmonton, I spotted this old house sitting off of a secondary highway. I loved how worn and weathered it looked. I saw such character in the old boards and shingles. I hope it won't disappear like the garage in Lavoy...
