White Butterfly, Parched Earth - Predator Ridge, British Columbia (Explored)
I took this shot of a white butterfly on our recent trip to the Okanagan. Taking a break from our wine tour, we decided to explore the rolling hill country near Predator Ridge, a few miles north of Lake Okanagan. Everything was extremely dry and brown, and the weather was sunny and hot. As we were hiking up to the top of the ridge, we came upon a small, but beautiful resort. Along its borders it had a few tiny, but well watered gardens that drew white butterflies and skippers. There were no bees because of the dryness of the surrounding area. The photo was taken in August 2012, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
P.S. We never did find any predators at Predator Ridge.
