Battered Butterfly in the Brambles - Delta, British Columbia (Explored)

Tiger swallowtail butterflies are fairly rare in our part of the country, so when I spotted this one feeding on some blackberry blossoms, I could not resist taking some shots. It is clear that this butterfly has had an interesting life and is a survivor. Even with considerable wing damage, it didn't slow down. The photo was taken in July 2012, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
