Fox Sparrow Portrait - Vancouver, British Columbia
Sparrows are regular visitors to our garden. So far, I have identified at least five different species. If I am not mistaken, this is the less common Fox Sparrow. They are sometimes difficult to identify and photograph because they tend to stay on the ground and often associate with Song Sparrows who have similar colors. I came across this one sitting on the edge of a flower pot and took a quick head shot. The photo was taken in fall 2010, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
