There is a bunk in there Gloria, plenty of room. It only has a little exhaust brake (not the Jacobs brake that the American trucks use) and not good in hilly country.

Thanks Gloria yeah there is a sleeping bed it sits right behind where the driver and Passenger seats very comfy bunks in these Volvos too=Thanks Pete yeah thats there major problem isnt it the exhaust brake does not help much you have to make sure you are in the right gear at the top of the hill before you make your way down that helps save on the brakes a bit Thanks=Gloria=-Pete

The right gear ? I tried them all except reverse, the exhaust brake produces a slight farting sound but little else.
Newer Volvos have an engine brake, as good as a Jake but much quieter.

nice volvo ,my first truck as a owner /driver was a 1994 F12 405 hp not a great exhaust brake but you miss it if it`s not working.nearly broke my heart with replacing air dryers ,commpressors and air valves, think scania have the edge in my opinion,

They certainly seem to have their share of air related problems. I had one refused to select lo range at a very busy road intersection here, ( Springvale Junction) after numerous attempts I gave up and rang a mechanic. An hour later he arrives gets into the truck and it goes in first time. Ahh.
He later disconnected all the lines to the gearbox, getting a lot of white oily gunk out in the process. Air dryers may be good but you still need to blow the tanks each day.

Thanks Routeman and thanks Pete great info guys i have to agree with the Scania,S although think Volvo aout sell them easy but the new ones coming out look to be good but time will tell god whata place for that to happen a aweful Intersection Thanks Routeman and thanks Pete

yea had the range change problem ,there is a small in line filter on one of the air lines and that blocks and reduces air flow so the range or spliter stop working,i had to sell my F12 nearly drove me mad with air related problems.secret squirrel6 you have some great pictures thanks for sharing them.real jealouse of your great weather ,it never stops raining in ireland.

Interesting to know that Routeman, it was a company truck and they were always behind on the maintenance. We are getting a bit of rain recently and pleased to see it.
