Robbie Burns Supper(s), 2012
The Delta Police Pipe Band celebrates the life of Robbie Burns with two sold-out suppers on consecutive nights. So popular are they that the tickets are sold out as soon as they become available, with waiting lists for cancellations. Over the two nights close to 900 people are well served with the traditional fare, of haggis, bashed neeps, bashed tatties and peas. For the unbelievers, there is always prime rib.
The Band is now so large that it sports two mini-Bands on the floor, allowing for interesting arrangements. Entertainment is also provided by local girls Scottish dance groups. Not to be outdone, the Band's Regimental Highland Dancers strut their stuff.
It is a night to be remembered and is arguably the largest Robbie Burns celebration in the world.
