Freikorps Assault with Flamethrower

A Freikorps unit dashes down a Berlin street in pursuit of Reds during the German Civil War of 1918-1923. This battle likely took place in the General Strike of March, 1919.

In the center of the crowd of soldiers with grenade bags and peakless helmets is a Wex accompanying squad (Wexbegleittrupp), functioning exactly as it did during the war.

Here, instead of mopping up pockets of French, British, or American resistance, it would be used against strikers or communist agitators.
