    LTI TX1 Special Edition (1997-02) Engine 2402cc Nissan Diesel
    Registration Number LG 52 VCE
    Introduced in 1997 by the London Taxi International (TXI) and designed to replace the ageing Austin FX4. Most are powered by Nissan diesel engines. In 2002 it was replaced by the TXII which used the Ford Duratorq engine.
    This Special Edition was offered in Gold to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of HRH Queen Elizabeth

      Thank you for the information Ross, i did wonder why it was Gold and suspected this may have been the case now really pleased i took the shot. I do remember about the time of the Golden Jubilee there were a number of Gold Routemasters about but i have not got a shot of one, it would have been a pity to return them to Red after the Jubilee.
