Plymouth Belvedere (1954-61) This series Belvedere replaced the Cranbrook as the top of the line Plymouth. small tailfins appeared along with fully automatic transmission and a larger standard engine of 230.2 Ci six with a 110 bhp. For 1955 Virgil Exners "Forward Look" appeared. For 1956 push button automatic transmission (a first on American cars),fins had grown highlighting a much more dramatic rear end and the Belvedere line saw the inclusion of the Fury as a special high performance edition. The 1957 models were so dramatic they were announced as "Suddenly its 1960" and the lin again included the Fury. The standard engine was now a 318 inch V8 with dual four barrell carburetors. fins were higher a striking chrome grille and front bumper, and the rear end refreshed . Base price was $ 1899 and this the late 1957 received chrome vertical members below the bumper line. Shot at the Rally of the Giants Knebworth ref 43-299
