Reza's New Face-Up!!!
Reza returned from his face-up by the talented Himi*Mo! I am delighted with his look.
Himi*Mo is basically the reconstructive surgeon for my collection, lol. I don't think a head exists that she can't beautify. Reza's head was stained by its previous face-up, especially around the nose, eyebrows, and chin. Looking at him now, you'd never know! I can't even see the scars with a magnifying glass. Himi*Mo experly covered the "scars" and gave me this beauty :)! About a year ago, she worked the same magic for Darcy, my much-loved Bobobie Weylin. She's VERY good at hiding dolly scars, and did not even charge me extra.
The brushwork on the eyebrows, eyelashes, and lips is very thin and delicate. The colors are more intense in person, but not in an overdone way! The head matches the body perfectly. I commissioned for him to have an intense "diva" look, to match his passionate personality. Reza is the "stylish villain," and the very cute antagonist of my collection. I'm delighted with how well Himi*Mo captured his expression and personality :)!
Himi*Mo was also very understanding with my last-minute change. I initially asked her to paint my CustomHouse Laura, but changed it for Reza in the last minute. A bad experience with the DragonDoll company killed my initial enthusiasm for Reza. Although I love my doll, he reminded me of the company's offensive behavior. So Reza spent many months on a shelf, unpainted and ignored. I almost donated him to charity. But in the last minute, I had a change of heart. Neglecting him felt wrong, and I knew if anyone could fix him, it would be Himi*Mo :). He face-up gave Darcy a fresh start, and now Reza.
I am SO glad that Himi*Mo (Sarah) accepted him on such short notice and did such a wonderful job. She didn't charge me extra or lecture me. Her beautiful artwork eased off the animosity I felt about this doll, and now I love to look at him and photograph him. I am not donating, swapping, or selling him. Like Darcy, he is here to stay! :)
