Anna's hummingbird picking cattail tufts for the nest

We often see hummingbirds near flowers and feeders. As the spring has started, however, one can hear the humming sounds near streams and marshy areas, where the birds pick up cattail tufts for their nests. It looks like presence of cattails provides some benefit to local birds even though cattails may be invasive in some ecosystems.
